Reyenieju Condemns Alleged Killing of Two Youths by Naval Personnel in Warri
THE member representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Daniel Reyenieju has condemned the Warri Killings of last Friday and vowed that the incident will not go un-investigated.
Commenting on the alleged shooting of two youths in Warri last Friday by a Naval Personnel, the Lawmaker expressed utter disgust and pains over the incident.
He said that: “I wish to express utter disgust and pains over the reported gunning down of two youths in Ifiekporo community near Warri by a Naval personnel attached to an oil company. I note that the negative activities of those I describe as happy-trigger uniformed persons has inflicted endless tragedies on the indigenes of the area given the fact that such mindless killings of defenseless indigenes of the area has become a reoccurring decimal which is capable of igniting untold crises of diversified proportions”.
According to the Lawmaker also ;”The manner with which innocent persons of the area are being endlessly gunned down in the broad daylight by uniformed personnel whereby the area has inadvertently been turned into human abattoir, it can now reasonably be conjectured that the refusal of the relevant military authorities to investigate and punish perpetuators of such heinous crime in the past has inadvertently encouraged such acts of criminality as brazenly manifested last week”
He appealed to the youths of the area to remain peaceful in the face of such painful provocation assuring them that the incident of last week will not go without being investigated and culprit (s) squarely punished if found guilty.
