Police cadet examination: Edo command pledges maximum security
The Police Command in Edo says it will provide maximum security for candidates writing the selection examination for the 16th Regular Cadet Course of the Police Academy, Kano, scheduled to hold in Benin.
This is contained in a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, and made available to the Newsmen in Benin on Wednesday.
Nwabuzor said that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Johnson Kokumo, had directed Squadron Commander 5′ Mobile Police Force to provide adequate security for the examination.
He also said that the commissioner had deployed the Officer in charge of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) to sweep the venue and its environs of any explosive device.
He said the test would be held on July 14 and directed candidates who chose Benin as their examination centre to report at the Police Training College, Ogida, at 0645 hrs.
The Police Spokesman said that screening of candidates would commence at 0700hrs, while the examination would begin at 1000hrs.
He also said that examiners and other officials would come from the Police Force Headquarters, Police Academy, Kano, Police Service Commission, the State Command and the Police Training school.
