Now that Obi of Ubulu-Uku Is Back to UK, Meet Ofulue Who Now Acts as Regent
Now that the 16-year-old Obi of Ubulu-Uku, HRM Obi Chukwuka Noel Akaeze 1, has travelled back to the UK, as we authoritatively reported on Saturday, 20 February 2016 and Tuesday, 22 February 2016 that he would, meet 49-year-old Anthony Ofulue who now acts as Regent in his absence.
Regent Ofulue, who is married and has a 15-year-old son, was in the royal entourage that visited the Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa this Monday. A very reliable family source told XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE that the courtesy call on the governor was not only intended for Obi Akaeze 1 to get acquainted with the number one citizen of the State, but also to introduce his uncle to the Governor and to request that the State gives him all the support he would need in discharging his duties as Regent.
The young-looking Regent Ofulue is the immediate younger brother of late Obi Akaeze Edward Ofulue III, who was allegedly kidnapped and murdered by 6 Fulani herdsmen. A 1984-set of St Anthony’s College Ubulu Uku, Regent Ofulue studied Religious Studies and Philosophy at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo state and graduated with honours in 1991. In 1998, he travelled to Leeds, UK and obtained a diploma in Estate Management from Leeds City college. The avid lover of music and soccer has been living in Leeds since then.
A family source told XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE that Regent Ofulue is ready for the challenge and take Ubulu Uku kingdom to greater heights until the Obi returns: “It is providence that threw this new responsibility on his laps. He is looking forward to the challenge and he intends to help heal the wounds of the family and town in general.”
Although Regent Ofulue has settled down on his new role as Regent, XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE can authoritatively report that he is yet to completely disengage from his immediate family and his business interests back in Leeds, UK. We reliably gathered that in a week’s time, the Regent is expected to travel to the UK in what will be the first of his frequent shuttles between Ubulu-Uku and Leeds to see is family and to gradually clear his office table in the UK before settling down finally in Ubulu Uku for at least the next 7 years that Obi Akaeze 1 is expected to return home to the throne finally.
A family source had told XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE in our report of 20 February that they expect Obi Akaeze 1 to finally return home to the throne not more than on his 21-year birthday, as they cannot afford to let him stay away for too long.
“Obi Akaeze 1 will be away for a period of time. But we are looking at him returning finally to Nigeria and to the throne at 20 or 21 years. We want to give him time to complete his education. But we can’t keep it for too long.”
