Not Again! 11 Nigerians on Death Row in Indonesia, 120 in China for Drugs

Just as the Nation is still trying to come to terms with the execution of four Nigerians amongst the eight that were executed in Indonesia last week for crimes of drug trafficking, a new report has indicated that 11 Nigerians are presently on the death row again for drug related offences.
On 29 April 2015, eight people were executed in Indonesia for drug related offences. Four of them were Nigerians: Raheem Agbaje Salami (also known as Jamiu Owolabi Abashin); Silvester Obiekwe Nwolise; Okwuduli Ayotanze; and Martin Anderson. According to The Citizen Online, there are at least 11 Nigerians currently on death row in Indonesia for various drug-related offenses.
A third-party investigation conducted at the Indonesian Embassy, Abuja, confirmed the news. Here are the names of the identified Nigerians said to be sentenced to death in Indonesia:
- Obinna Nwajagu
- Michael Titus Igwe
- Hillary .K. Chimezie
- Stephen Rasheed Akinyemi
- Humphrey Ijike alias Doctor
- Gap Nadi alias Papa
- Eugene Ape alias Felixe
- Ekfere Dike Ale Kamal alias Samuel
- Seck Osmane/Cajetan Uchenna Onyenworo
- Samuel Iwuchukwu Okoye
- Hansen Anthony Nwaolisa
In addition, the report also states that 120 Nigerians are currently on death row in China.
