New Obi of Ubulu Uku, Akaeze 1, to Fly Back to UK, Uncle to Act as Regent

Chukwuka Noel Akaeze is the new Obi of Ubulu Uku, Delta State. He is 16-years-old. He arrived from the UK on Thursday, 18 February with his mother, Fatima, who is from Guinea, and was crowned immediately. He assumes the royal title of OBI CHUKWUKA AKAEZE 1.

XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE can authoritative report that HRM OBI AKAEZE 1 is still in high school in the UK and plans are in place for him to return to the UK to continue his education. We also have it on good and credible authority that in the period that Obi Akaeze 1 will be away, his uncle, Anthony Ofulue, a 1984-set of St Anthony’s College Ubulu-Uku, will act as Regent. We understand that Regent Ofulue, who resides in Leeds, UK has already agreed to fly in to assume his new position as soon as Obi Akaeze 1 is set to fly back to the UK.

“Obi Akaeze 1 will be away for a period of time. But we are looking at him returning finally to Nigeria and to the throne at 20 or 21 years. We want to give him time to complete his education. But we can’t keep it for too long. And we are not sure that Tony will be patience enough to wait for more than 7 years, as he will need to attend to his other interests in the UK,” a family source told XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE.

On 5 January 2016, Obi Akaeze 1’s father, Akaeze Edward Ofulue III, the then Obi of Ubulu-Uku, was kidnapped along Igbodo-Obior road in Delta State, and the kidnappers demanded N100 million as ransom for his release. His decomposed body was discovered at Umunede, Ika North East LG 15 days later without the ransom being paid. In a press briefing last week Friday, the Police revealed that six Fulani herdsmen had been arrested and were being interrogated.
