Mu’azu Resigns as PDP Chairman

Embattled National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, has resigned from his position as the party chairman for reasons yet unconfirmed. This decisive action was taken today Wednesday May 20th 2015 after much pressure and persecution from his fellow party members especially the Ekiti state Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose.
It could be recalled that Fayose and Muazu for weeks had been engaging in battles of words following the change of status of PDP from ruling party to opposition party. Muazu was also accused of supporting the APC to which Fayose said he had proofs.
Muazu apparently saw the many persecutions as reason enough to leave and this probably spurred his decision to resign. His resignation was confirmed to a National dailies by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Jalo, in a telephone interview.
Jalo said: “It is true, Mu’azu has resigned. I can confirm this to you, he resigned today.” However, when asked for clarifications on the matter, he declined.
