The 2014 Future Award Africa held yesterday, Sunday, 7 December 2014 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos was all about Linda Ikeji. The celebrity blogger bursts the bank with N1million Naira bid on a gold and pink Lanre DaSilva Ajayi dress to steal the show.

The auction, incorporated into the Award’s programme to raise money to support the campaign against Ebola, began at the reserve price of just N200,000. And when everyone thought it was going to settle at N800,000 after the last bidder, the Multi-millionaire Ikeji burst the roof by putting down a million Naira for the dress. Linda, who was dressed in a white full length monostrap Herve Leger dress, received a standing ovation from the emotional audience.

Linda Ikeji is garnering a reputation for spending big bucks. On 16 September 2014, XCLUSIVE Magazine reported how the former girlfriend of a popular Nigerian-based American radio presenter, Dan Foster, splashed a mouth-watering 24million on a brand new 2014 Range Rover Sport Supercharged. She explained then that it was her unique way of giving herself a birthday treat. The 2014 Range Rover Sport was an addition to Linda’s other expensive collection of cars, a 2008 Toyota Camry and 2011 Infinity FX 35.

Barely one month after the splurge, the Nigerian mega-rich blogger was dragged through the gutters for copyrights infringements. Mr. Aye Dee (twitter handle: @MrAyeDee), a Nigerian based in New York, United States, who blew the whistle, had accused the famous Nigerian blogger of lifting contents and images from sources such as TMZ, Getty images, Daily Mail UK, and AMA Sports without their permission, or without adequate acknowledgments. The offending images and contents were pulled down by the Celebrity Spinster, but it was too little too late as Google deleted her blog. Although it was restored within 24 hours.
