His Royal Majesty Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi 1 and Hon. Festus Okoh

Former Delta Minority Leader Quizzed By Directorate of State Security

Hon. Festus Okoh, the former minority leader of Delta State House of Assembly, was questioned by the Directorate of State Security (DSS) in Asaba Monday morning about the protest against the Dein of Agbor, His Royal Majesty Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi 1.

Hon Okoh was invited by the DSS to explain his alleged role in the protest. According to Ikaworld, Dein of Agbor was said to have complained to DSS that Delta minority leader was the chief instigator of the protest he claimed was politically motivated.

Hon. Okoh, who arrived the DSS office Asaba at 10.00 with a strong entourage of the executive members of Agbor Community Union (ACU), Concerned Agbor people and well wishers, was squeezed for over two hours. It was gathered that while Hon Okoh, popularly known as Chuky Dandy, was being squeezed, the Dein of Agbor phoned in to make his position very clear.

On 9 October 2017, hundreds of angry Agbor youths stormed the palace of the Dein of Agbor to protest his continued stay in the United States of America.

The spokesman for the youths, Uche Nwokoro, had said that “we are here to demand for the immediate return of our revered monarch from the United States of America. He cannot continue to rule us from another a white man’s land. This is alien to the Agbor people. We are great people and our kings were heroes. We will not allow anything that will relegate us among famous kingdoms of the world.

“If our Dein, our Baba is not ready to rule again he should tell us rather than remaining in the United States. We love him,we need him,he is our pride, hence,we are calling on him to come back home and build his kingdom. We are fully prepared to support him to move our kingdom forward. If he loves us as his children he should come back home.”

We understand that the Dein had, through one of his chiefs, equally demanded that a new house should be built for him because his ancestral residence was not fit for him to live in anymore. And that if they wanted him to return immediately, a decent hotel should be provided for him in Agbor or Asaba until a decent house is provided for him.
