Yola Bomb Blast: 32 Confirmed Dead
Sadly, the National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) have confirmed that 32 persons were killed in the Thursday night explosion near Jimeta Mordern market, Yola. This figure was confirmed to some News correspondence who were in Yola this morning. The NEMA Coordinator in the state, Alhaji Sa’ad Bello ,said 53 others were injured during the blast and some of them in critical conditions requiring surgery.
Alhaji Bello said both the dead and injured victims had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, and the Specialists Hospital, Yola.
According to him, most of the unfortunate victims were roadside food vendors, meat sellers and fruit sellers and some hawkers.
Meanwhile, Federal Medical Center and the specialist hospitals in Yola have called out to citizens for donation of blood as many of the injured victims urgently need blood transfusion.
However, the Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa Police Command, DSP Othman Abubakar, while confirming the incident, said he has no details of the casualties.
