Mr. Patrick Ukah, made the call during a meeting of Oshimili North Local Government Area chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 9, held at Okpanam.

The Commissioner noted that the call became necessary since it has been observed that many qualified persons developed nonchalant attitude towards the ongoing registration exercise.

Mr. Ukah observed that without the people registering, they will not be allowed to vote and that dividends of democracy are usually distributed based on population.

While urging the people to continue to support the government of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Commissioner commended the people for turning up for the meeting in their numbers and reminded them that the power to be part of the government is through their votes.

On the need for more registration Machines to be deployed by INEC to the local government for better coverage, the Commissioner promised to liaise with those concerned but reminded that the the registration is time bound hence all should endeavour to register.
