The governor disclosed this while speaking at a job fair organised by the state government as part of activities to mark his one year in office in Benin on Wednesday.

Obaseki said the job incubation centers would be located within industrial parks and estates which his administration was planning to set up.

‘’We want to create several jobs incubation centers/hubs where job seekers will be trained so that companies will have opportunity of interviewing them and give them jobs.

‘’Our administration is working to site industrial parks in the state; we will be launching our first major industrial park at Iyanomo along Sapele road; it is about 600 hectares and will house over 200 companies.

‘’We have also commenced the design of an industrial park and incubation center at the premises of the Benin Technical College to house technology and data companies.

’The third industrial center will be located at Ikpoba Hill. We have concluded plans with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation to create a two Mega Watts hydro plant that will provide electricity from Ikpoba river dam.

“The electricity will be used to power the industrial estate that will be sited there and a couple of industries that will be located there,’’ he said.

Obaseki said that his administration would not relent in creating the necessary policies and platforms to empower youths with skills that would make them fit into the emerging employment opportunities his administration was creating in the state.

‘’We have the potentials to create all we want as we have the base materials, so we have to prepare our youths to fit into these new jobs we intend to create via training,’’ he said.

Obaseki that his administration would also key into the emerging employment opportunies in the agriculture, housing, education and healthcare sectors to create jobs for youths.

Earlier, Mrs Ukinebo Dare, the Coordinator of the Edo Job 2017 Summit, which featured the job fair, described the job fair as `a success’ as many companies indicated interest to employ about 100 trainees at the job summit.
