Delta State Police smash 3 notorious bandits in Asaba

The Delta State Police Command have smashed three suspected armed robbers/kidnappers terrorising Asaba and its environs. The armed bandits, who have been on the wanted list of the Delta State Police Command, are one Daniel Chukwuemeka, Musa Mohammed popularly known as “Musa 1000” and Alkasi Abdullahi were arrested separately for armed robbery and kidnapping cases.

The Delta State Police Commissioner, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim, in a press statement said that team of SAKCCS operatives in a joint operation with Eagle Vigilante group of Abraka markek, Asaba trailed and arrested Musa at Hausa market, Onosha in Anambra State.

Police Commissioner said that the hoodlum (Musa) has been in the command’s watch list for aiding and abetting commission of kidnapping and other related offenses.

However, he explained that the suspects is responsible for the supply of arms and ammunitions to various kidnapping syndicate of mostly Hausa/Fulani extractors.

According to him, “SARS men and patrol within Asaba metro received a distress call from one Frank Nwadalu of Jesus save road, Asaba , that four armed robbers snatched a Toyota Venza with reg.no FST 852 GE from his wife, the victim on gun point. On receipt of the information, the men swung into action and recovered the snatched vehicle with a different plate number”

Delta State Police boss noted that Abullahi was trailed and arrested after kidnapping Uzih Simon the same day the victim was kidnapped while the victim was rescued unhurt.

On 25 June 2017, XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE reported that people of Delta State have called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Idris Ibrahim to as matter of urgency remove the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Zanna over insecurity rocking the state. Deltans lamented that armed robbers have taken over the state, killing, rapping, kidnapping people and snatching vehicles uninterrupted almost on a daily bases, insisting to IGP that the commissioner is not fit to handle the security challenge in the State.
