The court also passed the order to all Commercial banks operating in the State, and summoned them to appear before the Judge with statements of the said accounts.

The court’s decision followed the refusal of governor Lamido and the State government to obey the court’s order in a judgment that require them to pay the sum of N50 million as compensation to the All Progressives Congress senator-elect, Muhammad Sabo Nakudu.

The court gave this order during an earlier court proceeding, presided by Justice Sabiu Yahuza, in which he ruled in favour of the plaintiff Nakudu. Mr Nakudu, through his counsel Barrister Umar Aliyu, had filed a complaint about the defendant’s refusal to comply with the court judgment to pay the N50million damage compensation.
